The Sarcoma Cup is an annual sailing event. The regatta benefits the non-profit BeatSarcoma, Inc., which raises money for Sarcoma research.
Beatsarcoma is a California non-profit corporation and IRS-recognized 501(c)3 non-profit. We welcome one design fleets, PHRF/IRC racers, and non spinnaker cruising division sailors who just want to have a great time and help out a great cause.
Sarcoma Cup 2012 will be held in the San Francisco central bay (between Berkeley/Treasure Island/Angel Island), on Aug 25-26 (already on YRA's new calendar).
The Sarcoma Cup (www.sarcomacup.org) is a charity fund-raiser and celebration of the sailing life that features great racing, excellent dockside activities, and support for a very worthy cause. All proceeds beyond costs will go towards research for a cure for Sarcoma, the 'forgotten cancer' - and we will strive to cover all costs through some form of sponsorship. The Sarcoma Cup trophy itself was custom-made for the event and donated by Jerry Kermode, a world-class woodworking master.
Saturday will offer a gourmet dinner that is not to be missed.
